TEAMIsabel Moya, President Steve Mack, Senior Consultant Manuel Ramirez, Senior Consultant Manuel Ramirez is a forester and conservation expert who served first as the Costa Rica and Panama Director, and then headed the Southern Mesoamerica Program for Conservation International -- a leading conservation organization -- from 1989 until 2010. He has broad experience managing complex international projects involving numerous stakeholders, including national and local governments, international agencies, the private sector, and communities. He has also worked as a consultant in numerous conservation and sustainable development initiatives throughout Latin America. As a Fulbright Scholar, he graduated from the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Management. Daniel Barquero, Environmental Manager Daniel Barquero is a graduate of the School of Environmental Management at Costa Rica’s National University. In addition to his work with RAC and Eco Clean where he has experience in developing environmental management plans and project development and management, he has worked with the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (Costa Rica’s public utility in the area of electricity and telecommunications) in developing its environmental management program for the telecommunications sector. He was also part of an interdisciplinary team at the National University that helped develop and apply best practices in the area of community-based rural tourism. He also worked with Costa Rica’s Coffee Institute (ICAFE) and the Dota Coffee-Growers Cooperative to utilize wastes from coffee processing to produce energy. In addition, he helped develop the Emergency Response and Solid Waste Management Plans for the National University Foundation. Jorge Rodríguez, Environmental Manager Jorge Rodriguez is also a graduate of the National University’s School of Environmental Management, where he worked in the development of a pilot project on community management of household organic wastes with the Municipality of San Rafael de Heredia, where he also developed a curriculum for environmental education in local schools. He also helped develop the Emergency Response and Solid Waste Management Plans for the National University Foundation. In addition, he has helped create environmental management programs for numerous RAC clients and is part of the management team for the EcoClean line of biodegradable cleaning products. He is especially interested in the area of waste management.
